Delta Advisory Committee: Sheriff Continues To Vindicate Me He’s Placeholder For Okowa’s 3rd Term

I will continue to say Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is a placeholder for Dr Ifeanyi Okowa’s third term at the helms of Delta State Government because he is repeatedly proving me right.

Sheriff, since coming in has decided to copy all the impunity and misgovernment that defined the idiocracy Okowa led as Delta governor.

Now, like Okowa, Sheriff has placed a partisan clan of ‘burnout’ PDP members on the state payroll in the guise of a Delta State Advisory and Peace Building Council. Among the team are same usual suspects, PDP elders who support and benefit the perpetuation of the PDP hegemony of idiocracy in the state.

A government with bloated clan of redundant governor’s aides in SAs, SSA, Commissioners and sundry hangers-on, how necessary is the Advisory appointees? What will they be doing other than to earn salaries for doing nothing, at best blackmailing the opposition in their communities before the governor.

Must Sheriff, like Okowa, empty the vaults of Delta’s commonwealth to pay salaries of idle political associates, so when there is need for projects of public interest, he will run to conniving banks to borrow, mortgaging the future of Deltans unborn?

How long are we going to live with an outrageously high cost of governance under the PDP thieving hegemony in Delta? Of what value and usefulness is the 44 man partisan advisory committee of retired PDP politicians ?

Okowa did similar things but must the new governor ‘follow copy’ all the missteps of his failure predecessor? It’s been an embarrassment watching the media awash with congratulatory messages to those handed the compassionate advisory committee memberships.

Government in Nigeria is a business enterprise and when one is appointed he/she is expected to feed on public wealth. The easiest way to get rich overnight is getting appointment or elected into public office.

This appointment of whatever committee is another deliberate conduit to drain the money meant to build critical infrastructures, now being used to pay idle politicians for doing nothing.

All of these committee of advisers are useless. It is more honourable for Sheriff to state clearly that these retired PDP members are paid pensions from the state’s treasury rather than claiming they are appointed as advisory committee.

What useless appointments?
