Atiku Receives Rousing Welcome In Jada Preparatory To His 77th Birth Anniversary
The National Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), His Excellency Atiku Abubakar received a rousing welcome today in Jada as part of the events lined up for his 77th birthday coming up on the 25th day of November, 2023.
The homecoming event was grand as residents of Jada and its environ trooped out in their numbers to welcome their illustrious son and a national icon.
The first in the series of events was the formal commissioning of Dari Hotels and Apartments built by one of Atiku’s friend and associates, Alhaji Tanimu Abdullahi. This was followed by a tree-planting event led by the former vice president of the country in Jada.
In the welcome address at the home coming ceremony, the chairman of Jada Local Government Area, Salihu Mohammed stated that they are proud of Atiku’s accomplishments and attributes and his stands on defending democracy in the country, noting that the development strides in Adamawa State was the result of the foundation led by Atiku.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ahmed Shehu who is a Special Assistant to Atiku Abubakar, explained the reasons for the events which is to celebrate Atiku who has labored strenuously for the enthronement of Democracy in the country. He noted that Atiku stands for peace and unity in the country. He described Atiku as a rare statesman without tribal or religious bias. Dr. Shehu further stated that the Unity Cup Competition and the support for the needy, the vulnerable, the orphans and the hospital project were all designed to showcase Atiku’s attributes who is known for his acts of philanthropy.
In his response, the Wazirin Adamawa thanked Allah for His benevolence and mercy for the opportunity to witness a day like this.
He also thanked the organizers for honoring him; for educating the people about what the country has given to him and what he has given in return.
He emphasized on the importance of giving priority attention to education which he described as the key to success, in the scheme of things.
He called on parents to educate their children stating that it was education that made him what he is given that he came from a poor background.
He stated that he built schools and hospitals in Jada as part of his social responsibility program of giving back to the society.
In conclusion, he advocated for peace and unity without which development will be impossible in the country.
