Vice Chancellor, Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka, Professor Andy Egwunyenga, has said that the university was yet to decide if the deadline for payment of school fees should be extended.

The academic calendar of the institution states that students of the institutionare are expected to pay their school fees before or latest January 5, 2024.

Some students who are yet to pay are hoping that the management will make a u-turn on tomorrow’s deadline and extend the date.

Speaking to Oasis Magazine exclusively on Thursday, Prof. Egwunyenga, said: “It has not been extended but a decision will be made tomorrow evening on whether to extend or not to extend.”

Oasis Magazine, conducting an exclusive chat with the VC after four years on the saddle piloting the affairs of the institution, had asked the VC if the deadline for school fees payment has been extended.

Meanwhile, the leaders of the Student Union Government, SUG, unlike previous times, seem to be silent on the matter.

A student who spoke under conditions of anonymity, said: “By now, the SUG president would have written to the university management. I wonder why he is silent.”

A few who spoke to Oasis Magazine, said they have resorted to prayers to God to touch the heart of the VC and others in charge to decide to extend the deadline in order for them to put in more effort to get the money and pay before the next deadline.
