Ibadan Explosion: Cause Unknown, No Casualties -Police

The Police has reacted to the explosion that occured around Dejo Oyelese Street, Bodija, Ibadan around 7:44pm on Tuesday.
Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who posted on his X account on Wednesday, said “the cause of the explosion is unknown,” adding that there was no casualty yet.
Adding: “The search continues.”
He continued: “The Commissioner of Police Oyo State Command, in the company of some senior officers and other responders, is on the ground for on the spot assessment and rescue operation.

“The Oyo State Police Command has also deployed armed and plain clothe officers to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
“Updates are coming up soon.”
Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde, confirmed the death of two and that 77 persons were injured.
He also blamed the incidenceoin illegal miners.
