ASUU FUPRE Branch Awards Scholarships To Two Indigent Students

On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) presented the ASUU Indigent Scholarship Award of 400,000 Naira to two deserving students of FUPRE.

The scholarship recipients were Mesoma Maryann Anyanwu, a 200-level student in the Department of Science Laboratory Technology, and Yerinma Preye Dollars, a 200-level student in the Department of Civil Engineering. Each receiving 200,000 Naira.

Comrade Wilfred C. Okologume, the Branch Chairperson of ASUU FUPRE, congratulated the scholarship recipients and encouraged them to continue their studies with diligence.

In response, the students expressed their gratitude to ASUU for the award and promised to maintain high academic and moral standards.

The scholarship award presentation was witnessed by the President of the FUPRE Student Union Government and his executives, who expressed their appreciation to ASUU for her commitment to advancing the well-being of students. He further stated that the scholarship award is a testament to ASUU’s commitment to excellence in Nigeria’s University system.

The scholarship award presentation was attended by ASUU FUPRE Branch Executive members, members, and student representatives.

ASUU is committed to providing opportunities for indigent students to access quality education in Nigeria, the body said.

The scholarship award is one of the many initiatives of ASUU to support students in need.
