Delta NUJ said this in a statement signed by Comrade Churchill Oyowe, Chairman, NUJ Delta Council and Comrade Victor Sorokwu,
State Secretary, NUJ Delta Council.
“In fact, this one appointment has been long in coming and we have been so eager to welcome the helmsman of one of the key ministries of the state government,” the statement added.
According to the statement, “the governor in his wisdom seems to have taken critical considerations in appointing someone who has been on ground and understands the terrain so well.”
Delta NUJ expressed confidence that hus wealth of experience as the spokesman of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state should have prepared him sufficiently for the onerous task ahead.
“Very importantly, we are optimistic your engagement with the Union and journalists in the state will redress pervading mixed feelings and misgivings previously shared by some sections of the media.
