BREAKING: NADESSTU NJEC Suspends Senate President
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF DELTA STATE STUDENTS (NADESSTU WORLDWIDE)
PRESS STATEMENT
Communique issued at the end of the National Joint Executive Council (NJEC) meeting held on the 18th of March 2024.
The National Joint Executive Council convened to discuss crucial matters of national importance and made resolutions as follows.
1.The NJEC received budget proposal from executives and resolved that the President Should present the budget at the Senate meeting. This is imperative for the smooth running of association and the effective implementation of programs and activities that will benefit all students from Delta State origin.
2. We express our gratitude to the Governor for the approval of 674 million naira for the payment of bursary to delta state students and pass a vote of confidence on the Governor and the Delta State Bursary And Scholarship Board for their commitment towards the payment of Bursary as over 15,000 students have received payments and payments still on going. This gesture demonstrates a genuine concern for the welfare and interest of students.
3. The NJEC resolved Unanimously to suspend the Senate president indefinitely pending ratification from the Senate following overwhelming evidence of gross misconduct, abuse of office and breach of the constitution of Nadesstu
* FORGERY/IMPERSONATION: fraudulently cloning the signature of the deputy Senate clerk in a purported communique sent to the state Government.
*ABUSE OF OFFICE: Arbitrarily writing a purported communique on behalf of the Senate without a Senate meeting nor Senate resolution.

×. Attacking the integrity of the National executive council in your purported communique which constitutes an act capable of breaching peace. Etc.
This decision was reached in the NJEC meeting after careful consideration of the evidence presented and in the interest of upholding the integrity of the Senate and all association properties currently with him should be handed over to the Deputy Senate President with immediate effects.
4. That the Deputy Senate President should immediately assume office as the Acting Senate President and set up a committee in the Senate to investigate the circumstances surrounding the indefinite suspension of the Senate President.
5. That the commissioner of police, Delta State police command should as a matter of importance look into the unlawful harassment of students schooling in delta state by police officers citing the recent case of police harassment of the national welfare director that happened in Ogwashi Uku while he was on his way to get a bag of sachet water.
