Mowarin To Deliver DELSU’s 105th Inaugural Lecture March 28

A Professor of Syntax and Contact Linguistics, Macaulay Mowarin, MNAL will deliver the 105th in the series of inaugural lectures of the University on Thursday, 28th March, 2024.
The lecture entitled ‘Ramifications of new Englishes on Nigerian languages: Urhobo as a case study’ will take place at the 750 Lecture Theatre A, Academic Zone, Site III, DELSU-Abraka by 11:00am.
Mowarin, an indigene of Agbarho Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State attended the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) for his BA (Hons) English in 1979; and Nigeria’s Premier University, the University of Ibadan (UI) where he bagged Master of Arts (M.A.) in 1988 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in 2004.

Mowarin will be the fourth to deliver inaugural lecture in the Department of English and Literary Studies, Faculty of Arts, DELSU, Abraka after Professors Simon Obikpeko Umukoro, Godini Gabriel Darah and Mabel Ejime Osakwe respectively.
Guests are expected to be seated by 10:30am at the lecture that would be chaired by the Vice Chancellor of DELSU, Prof Andy Ogochukwu Egwunyenga.
