…Says Modular Refineries, IPP, Electric Vehicles On PPP Arrangement Coming

Chief Executive Officer of Delta State Orientation Bureau and Executive Assistant on Communications to the Governor, Dr Latimore Oghenesivbe, has again assured Deltans that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will continue to deliver quality infrastructure projects across the three senatorial districts as encapsulated in his MORE agenda under implementation.

He gave the assurance on Friday in Asaba, while speaking as a special guest at the Parliament Platform, a popular public affairs live talk show on Bridge F.M radio, and monitored across the state, adding that the governor is already taking proactive steps to facilitate partnership with the private sector on Independent Power Project, Modular Refineries and Electric Vehicles to grow business, attract investors and to enhance the scope of clean energy in the state.

Oghenesivbe said the IPP project is very dear to the hearts of Deltans and the governor, because it would help a great deal to boost the economic activities of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises by upscaling their profits as against the current trend wherein entrepreneurs spends nearly seventy percent of their profits on fuel and diesel to power their equipment.

He posited that the Oborevwori administration has recorded tremendous success in the past nine months in terms of prudent management of state resources, funding of several uncompleted projects across the state and official flag off of new mega projects such as; three flyovers road expansion projects and pedestrian bridges at DSC Roundabout, PTI junction, Effurun Roundabout and Enerhen junction up to Marine Gate, phase three of underground water tunnels in Warri, Uvwie and environs; especially Ugboroke, Ugberikoko and Bendel Estate, while plans are now to upgrade Warri Stadium to international sports facility.

The EA Communications to governor Oborevwori, further stated that students bursary for this academic year 2023/2024, has been disbursed to all students of Delta State origin in institutions of higher learning across Nigeria, and that the Tertiary Institutions Students Social Health Insurance Programme was recently launched by the state government at Dennis Osadebey University Anwai, through the Delta State Social Health Insurance Commission, under the able supervision of Dr Isaac Akpoveta, the Director General of the Commission.

On the economic hardship in the country and what Delta State Governor and the government is doing to alleviate the problem, Oghenesivbe said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the blame for the nation’s economy woes, pointing out that life was obviously better and enjoyable during the seventeen years the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, took charge of national government.

He lamented that Nigerians have been suffering since the All Progressives Congress, APC came to power at the centre in 2015, while urging Deltans and Nigerians to continue to place more demands on the federal government to alleviate the persisting acute poverty and degrading hardship raging the country.

In Delta State, the EA Communications revealed that governor Oborevwori is pained by the sufferings of Deltans, which was why he had to reduce the number of work days for certain categories of civil servants, paid N10,000 for a period of three months to argument their transport fares, distributed palliative across the twenty five local government areas, while working out other strategies to assist SMEs to drive growth, development and prosperity for all Deltans.

“It is heartwarming to hear Deltans commending governor Oborevwori over his good governance strides within nine months in office. He shall continue to do more for our people and advance Delta via the instrumentality of his MORE agenda currently on full scale implementation across all sectors of the state economy.

“Our excessive local content governor with street sense and street credibility has proven beyond reasonable doubt that indeed, a state governor that knows his onions can meaningfully touch the lives of his people, and embark on people focused and people oriented gigantic projects that would advance the state within a reasonable period.

“The governor came on May 29, 2023, meaning that he has been working with half budget of 2023 inherited from the previous administration without borrowing a dime. This is remarkable and at the same time praise worthy. Prudent management of state resources and fiscal discipline has taken center stage in this administration.

“The 2024 budget is the first full budget of this administration, and it promises to take care of some projects. Between now and May 29, some of the ongoing projects would have been completed and they shall be commissioned by governor Oborevwori to mark his first year in office.

“Delta is peaceful and by the time government is able to solve power problems through the IPP and modular refineries on PPP arrangements, Delta State shall be the major destination for investors, Direct Foreign Investment, DFI, and tourism. We shall get there under this administration, by the grace of God.

“Governor Oborevwori is totally committed to the overall development of the state; Delta Central, Delta North and Delta South, and shall continue to run an all inclusive government devoid of ethnic and tribal bigotry, undue favouritism, and any action or inaction that is repugnant to equity, good conscience and natural justice,” Oghenesivbe assured.
