Gunmen Kill Police Inspector, Sunday Baba, In Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command has said that on Wednesday night, a police officer, Inspector Sunday Baba, lost his life while on duty.
The command disclosed this on Thursday in a post on X via its official handle.
Describing the deceased policeman as “a brave police officer,” the post added that he was serving at Rumuolumeni when the incident happened, but did not state more details.

Adding: “He lost his life on duty.”
“Though the perpetrators fled, we recovered their vehicle,” the statement said.
According to the post “it’s sad that being a police officer means leaving home in good health, never certain of your return.”
