Police Arrest Delta Poly Accountant, Recover One Beretta Pistol

The Delta State Police Command has arrested the accountant at the Delta State Polytechnic Oghara Delta State, Chief Oviri Onorigho.
The police spokesman in the state, SP Bright Edafe who disclosed this on Sunday in a statement, added that the arrest was made on Friday at about 11.30a.m.
According to him, the Commissioner of Police Special Team deployed to Ughelli led by ASP Julius Robinson, acting on intelligence, stormed the residence of the 52 year old chief’s residence in Oghara town in Ethiope West Local Government Area.

Adding: “A search warrant was executed in his residence during which one Beretta Pistol loaded with four(4) rounds of live ammunition was recovered,” saying “the suspect was immediately arrested.”
“Preliminary investigation revealed that he is suspected to be a member of Aiye confraternity,” he said.
Continuing, Edafe said: “The suspect stated that he bought the gun from one Morrison (at large) for two hundred and fifty thousand naira (#250,000) and that it was for his protection.”
The suspect is in custody and investigation is ongoing.
