Father’s Day: Take It Back Tasks Fathers On Child Protection, Prevalence Of Crimes In Our Society

The Pro-democracy and human right group,Take It Back Movement, has called for increased child protection and urgent tackling of crime in our society.

The human right group through its Delta Coordinator, Ighorhiohwunu Aghogho called on fathers not to abuse the position of trust given to them by God.

In a statement made available to the Press and signed by the Spokesperson of its Delta State Chapter, Comrade Awipi Teduolo, the statement reteirated the fact that the position of trust occupied by fathers cannot be abused.

The statement partly reads:

Fathers play a significant role in tackling crime, both within their families and in the community.

On Positive role modeling,fathers can set a good example for their children, teaching them values like honesty, respect, and responsibility.

On mentorship,fathers can mentor their children, providing guidance and support to help them make good choices and avoid involvement in criminal activity.

It continues,on family bonding, Strong father-child relationships can help build a sense of belonging and reduce the likelihood of children engaging in criminal behavior.

On discipline and boundaries,fathers can establish clear boundaries and discipline, teaching children right from wrong and consequences for their actions.

On Community involvement,fathers can participate in community programs, initiatives, and organizations that work to prevent crime and support at-risk youth.

The statement added,on encouraging education,fathers can emphasize the importance of education, helping their children develop skills and knowledge to pursue positive paths.

On building self-esteem,fathers can help their children develop self-confidence and self-worth, reducing the likelihood of involvement in criminal activity.

In Providing opportunities, fathers can provide their children with positive outlets, such as sports, music, or hobbies, to keep them engaged and focused.

In collaborating with authorities, fathers can work with law enforcement and community leaders to address crime and safety concerns in their neighborhoods.

In breaking cycles, fathers can break cycles of criminal behavior by providing a positive alternative to their children, helping to end intergenerational pat

terns of crime.
