Hashimu Argungu Appointed As Chairman Of Police Service Commission
President Tinubu has nominated retired DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
Argungu will replace Solomon Arase, a former IG, who was appointed to the post in January 2023.
President Tinubu also nominated Chief Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Rtd) as Member.
The nominations are subject to confirmation by the Senate.
Other members of the Police Service Commission will be nominated in due course.
President Tinubu also appointed Mr. Mohammed Sheidu as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) with immediate effect.
Argungu is at present serving as chairman of NPF Micro-finance Bank.

He will be 67 on 10 July. He served in the police from 1984 till 2016 when he retired.
He has Masters of Laws (LL.M), Barrister at Laws (B.L), Bachelor of Law (LL.B), Bachelor of Arts Education (B.A.ED), Nigeria Certificate in Education (N.C.E) and Grade II Teachers’ Certificate.
