Patients Task Delta Health Commissioner On Greater Commitment By Healthcare Workers

A growing number of patients in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State are calling on the Delta State Commissioner For health Dr Joseph Onojame, to urge healthcare workers in the state to show greater dedication and commitment to their duties.

The call was made when newsmen had an interactive session with some patient at the Sapele Central Hospital.

A patient who spoke to newsmen on the condition of anonymity said that “I acknowledge the hard work and dedication of many healthcare professionals, but I have also equally experienced subpar care firsthand as well, and that is why I am also using this medium to appeal to our commissioner for health to use his good office to motivate healthcare workers to be more attentive, compassionate, and dedicated to their patients well being across the state not just here in sapele.

Another patient who spoke to newsmen, but does not want her name mentioned, said that” I have experience long wait, neglect, and inadequate care, emphasizing the need for improved communication and a more patient-centric approach by healthcare providers.”

“I understand that healthcare workers are doing their best’ but, that’s no excuse for shoddy care, because they are dealing with human life. I want to implore the delta state health commissioner to use his leadership to inspire and motivate healthcare workers to strive for excellence in patient care,” she concluded.

The patients hope to spark a renewed sense of purpose and dedication among healthcare workers, leading to better health outcomes and a more positive experience for all.
