Gunmen Abduct Former Commissioner, Joan Onyemaechi, In Delta

Gunmen have abducted former Delta state Commissioner For Technical Education, Joan Onyemaechi at her church along DBS road, Asaba during church service, shooting sporadically before taking her away to unknown destination.
Two police officers attached to her were shot by the gunmen, killing one in the process while the other sustained injury and he is receiving treatment at the hospital.

The Delta state police command public relations officer, Edafe Bright who confirmed the incident, saying the police are on the trail of the gunmen.
Joan Onyemaechi who in 2015 represented Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency at house of representatives also served as lawmaker for Aniocha South at the Delta state House of Assembly from 2007 to 2015.
