BREAKING: Gunmen Abduct Sapele LGA Chairman, Shoot Security Aide
Gunmen on Friday night abducted the Chairman of Sapele Local Government Area, Hon. Bright Abeke, in Delta State.
The council boss was reportedly kidnapped at his hotel, Debroefed, along Owumi Road in Sapele.
Eyewitnesses said the assailants, who arrived in a Range Rover, opened fire on his security detail before whisking him away to an unknown destination.
One of the security aides, CSO Ufuoma Asagba, attached to the chairman was shot during the attack, though details of his condition remain unclear as of press time.

The incident has sparked panic in the area, with residents calling on security agencies to act swiftly. There are growing appeals for security operatives to seal off all entry and exit points in Sapele to facilitate the rescue of the abducted chairman and track down the perpetrators.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the development.
