Obi: I’m Not Afraid Of Any Legal Action, We Shall Meet In Court –Onanuga

By Daniel Dafe

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday evening said he was yet to get any letter from Peter Obi’s lawyer threatening a N5 billion suit and demanding an apology to Peter Obi for accusing the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in 2023 as the brian behind the planned protest scheduled to begin August 1.

Recall that Onanuga on Saturday accused Obi’s supporters of sponsoring the planned nationwide protests against Tinubu’s administration, adding that the former Anambra governor would be held responsible for any liabilities that arise from the public demonstrations in August.

Reacting, Obi described the comments as defamatory to his reputation and personality.

Through a lawyer, he demanded the sum of N5 billion in damages and ordered Onanuga to retract his statement via various national dailies in the country.

The letter also mandated the presidential aide to tender an unreserved apology within 72 hours of the receipt of the letter.

But Onanuga who directed his post to Obi and his lawyer, said he was yet to get any letter, saying: “I’m not afraid of any legal action.”

Adding: “We Shall Meet In Court.”
