Sapele: Abeke Inaugurates Legislative Arm, As Samuel Azu Emerges Leader

The Chairman of Sapele Local Government Council, Hon. Bright Abeke, officially inaugurated the Legislative Arm of the council on Tuesday in an event which took place at the council secretariat, marking a significant milestone in the history of the Local Government Council
Abeke, while inaugurating the legislative arm, charged the newly elected councilors to work tirelessly to ensure the development of Sapele. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the executive and legislative arms in achieving the council’s goals.
Abeke appreciated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his impartial and fatherly role during the July 13th Local Government election. He further commended leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Sapele for their unalloyed support and all those who in one way or the other assisted the party to emerge victorious.
The Councillors were given the responsibility to nominate principal officers that would help with the smooth running of the 8th legislative arm, Hon Samuel Azu Emerged as Leader of the house, Hon Eguonor Ejokpaoghene Deputy Leader, Hon Eruteyan Ohiambe Majority Leader, Julius Emojero Chip Whip, and Hon Don Bajere Deputy Chip Whip.
The legislative arm, comprising of 20 councilors, is headed by Hon Samuel Azu as its Leader. In his acceptance speech as Leader of the 8th Legislative Arm, Hon Azu promised to work closely with the executive arm to ensure the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of Sapele.
Present at the inauguration ceremony were the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon Mrs Dora Efebefia, Joyce Jemirherhi, Chief Godday Okpako, Olorogun Benson Odjiyovwi Okorodudu and a host of other dignitaries.
The inauguration of the legislative arm is expected to strengthen the democratic process in Sapele Local Government, ensuring accountability and effective representation for the people.
