Ajede Advocates For Holistic Overhaul Of Education Sector
…Says No Alternative To Quality y Education
The Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Hon (Barr) C.S Possible Ajede, has advocated for a revamp in the education sector in the country even as he promised that under his administration’s #DoMoreAgenda, education will be given priority attention.
Barr Ajede made this statement while hosting the Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Chairman, Hon. Samuel Mariere, and his team of directors in his office today.

In his welcome address, the #DoMoreAgenda Torchbearer, Barr Ajede, emphasized that education should be seen as urgent and imperative. He stated that it should be pursued with the momentum of a revolution second only to war.
Barr Ajede, who was represented by the Director of Administration, Mr Okonye Victor, expressed his belief that there is no alternative to quality education adding that, his administration is committed to Do More to overhaul the education sector in the LGA.
Recall that in his first term under the #StepUpUkwuaniAgenda education development goals, Barr Ajede reconstructed schools, gave scholarships to Ukwuani students in tertiary institutions, organized interschool quizzes and debates, distributed school uniforms, bags, books, and textbooks to all pupils within the LGA, stocked school libraries, organized back to school campaign and enrolled indigent students in secondary schools for WAEC/NECO exams.
Earlier in his speech, the SUBEB Chairman, Hon. Mariere, called for synergy between the Local Government, the Local Government Education Authority, and the Chief Inspector of Education (C.I.E) to better drive home his administration’s education goals. These goals, he emphasized, should focus on reawakening the education sector in the LGA and the state.
He lamented the deteriorating state of public schools across the state and called for a revamp of the system to restore all public schools to their former standards and glory.
Meanwhile, the SUBEB Chairman also praised the education initiatives of the Ajede-led administration while urging the Council Boss to invest more education sector.
