Ajede Reiterates Administration’s Resolve To Agriculture Development
The Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Hon (Barr) C.S Possible Ajede, has reiterated his administration’s readiness to invest in the agriculture sector and turn the LGA into an agro-economic hub in the state.
Barr Ajede stated this while interacting with agro experts in his office earlier this week. He explained that agriculture will receive full attention as he plans to establish a Food Bank for the short-term food supply need of Ukwuani people even as he said farmers clubs will be set up across the 9 clans.

While addressing the group, the pragmatic Council Chairman disclosed that his administration will explore new and improved ways of farming that guarantee high yield and return on investment.
Recall that during his election campaign and recent thank-you visit across the communities in the LGA, the Barr Ajede promised the Ukwuani people that he would ensure safety and security across Ukwuani farmlands, form farmers clubs, and encourage young people to go into AI training/coding, ICT and large-scale mechanized farming.
In pursuance of the fulfillment of the pledge made to the people, Barr Ajede has commenced a feasibility study and consultation to ascertain what is workable and applicable in Ukwuani across the board. In his interaction with the Founder of Ekwukwo Foundation, who also doubles as the Chairman of Sephil Agrotech Ltd, Engr Dr. Ifeanyi Ojo, Mr Edemeny Chucky, Chairman of Anioma Holdings, and Engr Amaliri Ugochukwu of Sephil Agrotech Ltd, he disclosed that the youths will be meaningfully engaged in Small Holders Farms, which is the farmers’ club that will be formed in the communities.
Earlier, in their separate responses, the modern farmers explained to the Council Chairman that they are ready to partner with his administration to realize his agriculture agenda, which has the potential to make Ukwuani LGA an agro-economic hub.
The team commended the laudable and ingenious initiative of the Council to invest in agriculture and also for considering engaging the youths in farming, which is the vogue now in the country.
