As part of the strategic development framework captured in the #DoMoreAgenda to give the local government headquarters a modern facelift, the Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Area, Hon (Barr) C.S Possible Ajede, today met with the Obiaruku Community Development Association (OCDA) and some stakeholders.

During the meeting, the Council Chairman revealed his administration’s futuristic plans to develop a master plan for the Council headquarters and ensure a free flow of traffic along the Old/Sapele Agbor Road, Almona Street, and Amai Road even in market days in line with urban renewal demands.

Barr Ajede lamented the deplorable state of the new Sapele/Agbor Road in the area; however, he assured that his administration would provide interim reliefs to make the road passable for all road users; and also revitalizing the crumbling economic activities along the new road.

He also ordered wheelbarrow hawkers to stop congesting the road even as he added that, soon all vehicles will be parking in a designated area.

Barr Ajede has also dissolved the Taskforce in charge of controlling traffic along the Old Road with immediate effect. A new Taskforce Committee will be constituted and inaugurated in the coming days, he said.

Earlier in their collective remarks, OCDA congratulated the Chairman on his victory in the recent LG Polls and commended him for initiating the meeting, which they described as timely.

The Obiaruku Community Development Association briefed the Council Boss exhaustively on the state of the Obiaruku communities, outlining their challenges and achievements so far in the office.
