Nigeria’s Intelligence Chief, Abubakar, Resigns

Nigeria’s Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, has resigned.
This was after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Saturday.
According to Abubakar, who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2018, Tinubu accepted his resignation after a routine briefing at the presidential villa.

Abubakar who cited personal reasons for his resignation, emphasized his continued commitment to Nigeria’s security.
He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and for the confidence reposed in him.
