Hon, Okaegwu Isioma Peter, the Chairman/Convener of Delta North Youth Ethnic National stakeholders, has said that it was a new dawn for ancient kingdom of Aboh, following the emergence of Dr, Greg Oputa as king of Aboh, the headquarters of Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State.

Aboh erupted in jubilation after the election of Dr. Greg Nnamdi Oputa by the traditional kingmakers.

The new king emerged the new Obi of Aboh Kingdom on Wednesday.

Congratulating the new Obi of Aboh Kingdom shortly after the declaration by Aboh kingmakers, the Chairman/Convener of Delta North Youth Ethnic National stakeholders, while speaking to journalist after the announcement in Asaba, said September 12, 2024 marked the end of the crisis that greeted the demise of his predecessor, HRM Obi Imegwu II, who slept with his ancestors earlier in the year 2024.

He added: “We rejoice with HRM and the entire people of Aboh Kingdom and the residents in general,” noting that the process was transparently credible and generally accepted by all.

The epoch making event according to the high ranking Chief in the kingdom speaks volume of the tradition and culture of the people over the decades, saying that the process is infallible, just as he called on well-meaning sons and daughters of the community who may be harboring misgivings arising from the battle for the throne to sheathe their swords and embrace the new king in their support and solidarity, adding that “the alchemy that make heroes of mortal men has thrusted upon Dr. Oputa the responsibility of leading the kingdom in the 21st century Nigeria.”

“As Dr. Greg Nnamdi Oputa ascends the throne of his forefathers, he is bringing hope, innovation and the promise of a brighter future to the kingdom. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the rich history of Aboh, a kingdom that has faced numerous crisis, including developmental setbacks and divisions amongst the people that have caused pains and stagnation.

“The journey to this moment has not been easy, with a prolonged battle for the throne that left deep scars and tensions among the people of Aboh. The process was fraught with struggles and disagreements and many others, resulting in bitterness and divisions that threatened to tear the kingdom apart. However, the emergence of Dr. Oputa as the rightful king brings hope and lots of opportunities for healing and uniting.

‘Dr. Oputa is a great leader and a philanthropist who possesses the wisdom, vision, and capacity to lead Aboh to new heights. His reputation as a man of integrity and commitment to process, progress precedes him, and there is no doubt that under his reign, Aboh will experience a renewed hope of purpose and growth. This is a time to look forward with optimism, to envision a future where the kingdom thrives once again and attain its rightful place among other kingdoms around the world.”

He continued: “As we embrace this new leadership, it is crucial for every son and daughter of Aboh to put aside past differences and come together in solidarity. The future of Aboh depends on the collective efforts and togetherness of all its citizens. Now, more than ever before, it is time to rally around our new king, His Royal Majesty (Dr.) Oputa, and support him wholeheartedly as he take the mantle of leadership in rebuilding and advancing the kingdom.”

Furthermore, Hon Peter called on sons and daughters of Aboh kingdom, to give all the necessary support to the king to succeed/

“With total support and love, I have no doubt that HRM Dr Greg Nnamdi Oputa leadership will bring in fresh air and happiness to the people of Aboh,” he opined.
