Kenya School Fire Kills 17, Injures 14 Students

A tragic fire at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri, central Kenya, claimed the lives of 17 students on Friday, with victims reportedly burnt beyond recognition, according to local media.
Police spokeswoman Resila Onyango confirmed the fatalities and stated that 14 others were injured.

Rescue efforts are ongoing, and more teams are being dispatched to the scene.
Onyango shared updates on Kenya’s Hot 96 FM radio, indicating that further details would be provided by authorities.
This incident follows a similar tragedy in September 2017, when a fire in Nairobi killed nine students.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the latest blaze.
