Edo Governor, Okpebholo Nominates Oshiomhole’s Son, Others As Cabinet Members

The newly sworn-in governor of Edo state, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has made more appointments to his cabinet.

According to POLITICS NIGERIA, Okpebholo has named Barrister Musa Ikhilor as the Secretary to the State Government (SGG).

This move comes hours after Okpebholo assumed office on Tuesday and a day after appointing Fred Itua as his Chief Press Secretary.

Dr. Samson Osagie, a former federal lawmaker, has also been nominated as the State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.

Meanwhile, Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, son of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, has been nominated as Health Commissioner.

The senior Oshiomhole is the incumbent Senator representing Edo North senatorial district in the National Assembly and has been instrumental to the victory of Governor Okpebholo.

According to a press statement by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, the nominations of Osagie and Oshiomhole will be confirmed by the Edo State House of Assembly when their names are forwarded by Governor Okpebholo.
