Police Kill Labourer, Injure Three In Ebonyi State
Men of the Crack Squad of the Ebonyi State Police command Wednesday shot dead a yet to be identified labourer and critically injured three people in the state.
The unfortunate incident which happened at Ugwuachara junction in the state capital started when the Crack Team stopped a bike man and wanted to confiscate his motorcycle thinking he was into yahoo business.
An eyewitness narrated that the bike man introduced himself to the policemen as a military personnel but the Crack insisted on getting his identification as a soldier which he could not provide at the moment.

The eye witness maintained that as the feud between them continued with the man trying to resist being arrested, and possibly snatched one of their guns. One of the officers fired his gun which killed one menial jobber, who was at the junction in the company of colleagues looking for daily job.
Three other persons were also critically wounded and were rushed to the hospital. The corpse and the bike man were later taken to the station by the men of the Crack Squad, the source narrated.
Meanwhile, the Special Assistant to the governor on Internal security, Ebonyi Local government area, Mr Obinna Mbam confirmed the incident.
He said that normalcy has returned to the area and assured that the perpetrators will be brought to book.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police Ebonyi State Command, Anthonia Uche-Anya, who confirmed the incident said the identity of the bike man has been ascertained as a soldier serving in Katsina state but came home to Abakaliki.
Uche-Anya further stated that the police officer and the soldier are currently in custody while investigation has commenced.
She urged members of the public to maintain law and order, adding that the command is ready to protect the lives and property of the people.
