Senator Ned Nwoko has revealed that the renewed agitation for the creation of Anioma State is beyond political party.

The agitation for the creation of Anioma State is currently a spirit and a movement that resonates in every quarter of Delta State, particularly in Delta North.

This formed part of the brief, the Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, told the Asagba of Asaba, Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge, during a courtesy visit to the palace recently.

Senator Nwoko told the revered king that the move needed his support as it has been discussed at the presidency, upper and lower chambers of the National Assembly.

According to the Chairman, Senate Committee on Reparations and Repatriations: “it is something that the President and I have also discussed, the President and the leadership of the Senate and House of Representatives.

“And you know and I feel that Anioma State will be created. We need your blessings, advice and your support to make it happen.

“Many years ago, you visited me at my house in Abuja, where we have to discuss Anioma and I know that you are fully in support of this project.

“If you ask the average Anioma son or daughter today, to choose between APC, PDP, Labour Party, SDP, they will choose Anioma to be precise.

“The point is that Anioma is not about political party, so wherever we are going to be to make it happen that is where we will be but when it comes to that time, I will come again and we will talk about it”, he declared.
