Emefiele Loses Another Multi-Million Naira Looted Assets To FG

The former Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) Governor, Goodwin Emefiele, has lost another multimillion naira assets to Nigerian Government.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the final forfeiture of his warehouse and 54 loaded general-purpose steel containers.
These assets was traced to Godwin Emefiele.
Justice Deinde Dipeolu of the Federal High Court in Lagos gave the final forfeiture order on Thursday, December 19, 2024, with the property forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The warehouse, built on a 1.925-hectare landed property, contained 54 general-purpose steel containers filled with sewing machines of various shapes.
The EFCC had moved an application for the forfeiture of the assets, leading to an interim forfeiture order on November 28.
After publishing the order in two national newspapers, the Commission approached the court for the final forfeiture of the assets.
EFCC Counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, cited Section 44(2) (B) of the constitution and Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006, praying the court to grant the final forfeiture of the assets.
Justice Dipeolu granted the order, making the forfeiture another milestone in the asset recovery drive of the EFCC.
