Postgraduate Students Congratulate New DELSU VC, Asagba

The Postgraduate Students Association of Nigeria, PGSAN, Delta State University, Abraka, has congratulated the 8th Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Samuel Asagba, saying he is a ‘square peg in a square hole.’
Prof. Asagba took over as VC December 1.
A statement on Monday signed by the President, Ohwovoriole Oviebemre and Secretary, Bigila Abednego, said: “We have no doubt that he will make DELSU proud.”

According to the statement, the new VC has hit the ground running with his well spelt out 5-year-agenda on the saddle of leadership.
“We are glad that he has promised to upgrade the quality of graduates from DELSU, build infrastructure, increase the university’s revenue base, collaborate with other universities and focus on the welfare of staff and students.
Adding: “His emergence marks a significant milestone in the annals of this university.”
“This appointment is a testament of the wealth of experience you have gathered over the years in your career path. The scholarship, discipline and dedication to duty and selfless service you have exhibited was never unnoticed, thus it culminated in your esteemed appointment,” PGSAN said.
The statement continued: “As he begins his 5-year-tenure, we expect him to take DELSU to the next level as he promised during a religious gathering in Abraka.
“We extend our warmest and most vibrant congratulations to the amiable and student-friendly leader, Prof. Asagba.”
They recalled how as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) he was accessible, proactive and always pursued the interest of others,
“As you embark on this noble journey, we pledge our unwavering cooperation, support, and collaborative approach to ensure a resounding success in your tenure. Together, we shall make Delsu greater while we navigate the realms of academia, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and progress.
“We firmly believe in you, and our hopes are high that you will carry us all along in delivering more for Delsu, particularly in the actualizing the smart M.O.R.E agenda and mind blowing educational provisional of our dear Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder). Sheriff Oborevwori,” the statement said.
The students prayed for an outstanding tenure with many legacies to leave behind after he exits the stage.
“As we wish you a fruitful, productive and successful tenure, please do accept our esteemed regards,” the statement concluded.
