In science, we learn about ‘ideal gases’ and ‘real gases’, with ideal gases always representing a utopian concept.

While gases are expected to behave ideally, they often deviate, exhibiting real behavior that defines reaction outcomes. Waiting for ideal behavior is futile; we must be guided by the reality on the ground, choosing pragmatism over utopianism.

This principle applies to human behavior as well. We expect people to act ideally, but they have inherent ‘real’ ways of behaving. In any situation, we must adapt and strive for the best results by skillfully navigating the gap between ‘the ideal’ and ‘the real’. Otherwise, our dreams remain a mere utopian aspiration.

Applying this narrative to the leadership tussle in Delta State APC, we recognize that while everyone has leadership potential, it’s beneficial to empower those with specific qualities suited for leadership roles. Decisions should be based on serving the Delta State APC’s best interests and achieving goals effectively, aligning with the principle of experience and unique qualifications.

Our present circumstances in Delta State APC are not ideal. Advocating for utopianism won’t yield desired results. As a result-hungry entity, we must make reality-based decisions with empirical chances of success, rather than idealistic choices doomed to fail.

This is not the time to preach utopianism or quarrel over leadership. The ‘Abuja Group’ may be blinded by ambition, failing to see the reality before us. Our current circumstances have revealed who should lead Delta State APC in the battle for ‘Osadebey House’. We won’t make the mistake of letting someone ill-equipped lead us into a metaphorical war.

We insist on “Pragmatism Over Utopianism” for optimal results. In Edo State, Senator Adams Oshiomhole was allowed to lead the APC despite the presence of Federal Ministers, due to his capacity to deliver the state back to APC. The ministers recognized his superior qualities and yielded leadership without fanfare of an “Abuja Photoshoots”.

Our situation in Delta State APC requires H.E. Senator (Sir) Ovie Omo-Agege CFR, KSJ, Deputy President of the 9th Senate, to lead us to victory in 2027. He is the Delta State equivalent of Senator Oshiomhole, possessing unmatched speaking ability, mobilization skills, and political wisdom, having achieved the best electoral results against the entrenched Delta State PDP.

Despite being blessed with “The Obaisi” – H.E. Senator (Sir) Ovie Omo-Agege CFR, KSJ, Deputy President of the 9th Senate, a group of disgruntled members, I like to refer to as the “National Chairman/Ministerial Abuja Photoshoot Gang”, believes they can disregard grassroots reality and push their utopian ideology.

H.E. Senator (Sir) Ovie Omo-Agege CFR, KSJ, like no other opposition candidate, has demonstrated capacity, sagacity, confidence, grassroots-groundedness, and political experience. He delivered unprecedented results for Delta State APC, including 7 House of Assembly seats, 2 House of Representatives members, and 2 Senators (who are now displaying ingratitude).

We must recognize that the “Congregation of Failures” previously conspired to deny us victory at the Supreme Court, adhering to their principle of obstructing others if they can’t succeed themselves. It is not surprising therefore, to see the same group of individuals, scrambling for photoshoots in Abuja, all in the bid to scuttle the chances of the Delta State APC, in producing a formidable gubernatorial candidate in 2027.

Delta State APC, it’s time to wise up!

I am Dr. Joseph Tedwins Emudainohwo.
