Over 600 Nigerien Migrants Repatriated From Libya To Dirkou

More than 600 Nigerien migrants were repatriated from Libya to Dirkou in Niger’s Agadez region on Saturday, following their detention in Libya.

Reports indicate that many of the migrants endured severe hardships, including imprisonment under the forces of the Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Khalifa Haftar.

The repatriation showcased the challenging conditions faced by migrants in Libya, where arbitrary detentions and human rights abuses are frequently reported.

The Nigerien government and humanitarian organizations are currently providing immediate assistance to the repatriated individuals, including food, shelter, and medical care.
