ACP Dauda Buba Fika, Boko Haram’s Nightmare, Passes Away

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dauda Buba Fika, a revered officer in Nigeria’s fight against Boko Haram, has passed away. He died at the National Hospital, Abuja, at about 3:30 PM on Tuesday.

ACP Fika, known for his bravery and leadership, played a key role in reclaiming several towns in Yobe and Borno states from Boko Haram insurgents. As the Commander of Mopol 41, he led joint security operations that significantly weakened terrorist strongholds, including the liberation of his hometown, Fika, from their grip.

In 2017, he sustained gunshot injuries during an operation in Yobe State, injuries that required prolonged medical treatment until his passing.

Security officials, colleagues, and members of the public have expressed deep sorrow over his death, describing him as a fearless warrior who dedicated his life to restoring peace in Nigeria’s Northeast.

His legacy in counterterrorism efforts remains a testament to his unwavering commitment to national security.
