NUJ Congratulates Prof. Owamah On His Appointment As DELSU DVC (Academic)

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council has congratulated Prof. Hillary Owamah on his appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Delta State University, Abraka, saying it’ is “a well-earned appointment.”
This was contained in a statement signed by Comrade Churchill Oyowe, Chairman and Comrade Victor Sorokwu, Secretary.
The statement continued: “Your emergence as the youngest DVC (Academic) in DELSU’s history and the institution’s only Professor of Civil Engineering is a landmark achievement that underscores your intellectual brilliance, administrative acumen, and steadfast commitment to academic excellence.”

The union said further: “As a respected scholar, administrator, and researcher with over 60 scientific publications in top-ranking Scopus-indexed journals, your contributions to higher education in Delta State and beyond are inspiring.
“Your tenure as Director of Academic Planning, during which DELSU secured full NUC accreditation for all 92 programmes and established 15 new disciplines, further highlights your transformative leadership.
“Beyond academia, you remain a jolly good friend of the NUJ, a respected voice in intellectual discourse, and a resource person whose insights have enriched several of our union’s engagements.”
“We are proud of your accomplishments and have no doubt that you will bring the same visionary leadership and excellence to this new role,” the union said, while wishing him greater success, wisdom, and strength as he takes on “this significant responsibility in shaping the future of DELSU.”
“Congratulations once again on your meritorious attainments at just 42!,” the statement concluded.
