The Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, is set to launch the construction of Lagos-Abuja railway projects with high-speed bullet train.

The construction phase is expected to last between 48 and 52 months.

According to the Director of Operations at Geofocus Consortium, Engineer Yinka Idris, the project aim to reduce travel time between the two cities from 12 hours to just 2-3 hours

“An independent power plant will also be constructed to support the train and surrounding infrastructure,” Idris added.

The country transportation sector is poised for a significant transformation with the introduction of the High-Speed Bullet Train as the project has completed its feasibility studies and secured proof of funds.

It now awaits approvals from the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) and the Federal Executive Council (FEC) before construction begins.

“As Nigeria moves closer to realizing this dream, citizens can anticipate a future of seamless travel, improved quality of life, and enhanced economic opportunities under President Tinubu’s leadership,” Idris concluded.
