Oborevwori, Two Other Govs Will Decamp From PDP —Ptimate Elijah Ayodele Predicts

According to Independent Nigeria, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Founder and Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State against admitting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori into the party.

He stated that such a move would have negative consequences for the party’s future in the state.

Speaking at the inauguration of his international cathedral in Ejigbo, Lagos, Ayodele addressed a gathering of worshippers, where he cautioned that if Oborevwori joins the APC, it would significantly affect the party’s position in Delta State.

He suggested that the party’s presence and influence in the state would diminish as a result of the governor’s defection.

He also revealed that three governors from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are on the verge of leaving the party. Among them, he identified the Delta State governor as the most significant figure set to make the switch. He implied that this particular defection could have far-reaching effects on the APC in the state.

Ayodele maintained that Oborevwori’s entry into the APC would not strengthen the party’s chances in future elections. Instead, he warned that it could lead to difficulties for the party, affecting its ability to gain political ground in the state.

He expressed concerns that rather than benefiting from the governor’s influence, the APC in Delta State would face challenges that could weaken its standing.

The cleric suggested that the governor’s defection would not bring electoral success to the APC in Delta State.

He stated that the party would not gain the expected political advantage from the move, and instead, it would experience setbacks.

He argued that the anticipated benefits of welcoming Oborevwori might not materialize as some party members might expect.

He also spoke about the broader political landscape, noting that the planned defections of PDP governors would have implications beyond Delta State.

While he emphasized that Oborevwori’s move was particularly significant, he hinted that the other defections could also influence the balance of power in the country’s political space.

According to Ayodele, the APC must carefully assess the impact of such political realignments before making decisions.

He pointed out that political parties often assume that defections will strengthen their chances, but he warned that the opposite could happen in this case. He urged the party leadership to consider the long-term consequences of admitting the Delta governor into its fold.
