Rivers Crisis: Why I Don’t Pity Fubara

Incumbent Governor Siminalayi Fubara allowed self to be used for the sake of power. Fubara a civil service worker that was junior to many workers in River State Civil Service was imposed by Wike as Accountant General of the state above them.

Fubara who was not a card carrying member of PDP but was imposed on them as governorship flag bearer of PDP in River State. Alot of people were opposed for him to have emerged as governor. So why is he complaining now?

Wike had a hidden agenda to have imposed Fubara on the people. The reason is simple. Wike needed some one he could manipulate and this is known to Fubara. I’m told Fubara made open confession on the day he was sworn in as governor of River state that he never thought he could be elected governor and never dreamt of it.

Fubara is paying the price of the ‘Greek gift’ by his boss, Wike. Nyesom Wike is boldly saying he singlehandedly sacrificed alot to make him Fubara who he is today. I’m told most of the people flocking around fubara today never wanted him but Wike insisted it must be him or no person.

Those who are desperate to be political relevant at all cost will make such mistakes. There are alot of lessons to learn from the River State crises between Wike and Fubara. There is a parable in Urhobo that says, “Never you bite the food you don’t want to eat”. Fubara has swallowed the forbidden food for being greedy.

A greedy person is blinded by selfishness. The truth is that without Nyesom Wike, Fubara wouldn’t have been elected governor of River state. I am also told Opobo which is Fubara’s home town is one local government area and not really possible for him to be elected governor of River state.

I am not surprised because politics is the most viable business in Nigeria. Politicians invest in politics to maximise profits. It is not secret. There are many people including Wike,Fubara,Okowa and others who became super rich in politics.It is not new.

Most of the rich people in Nigeria since 1999 had glued to politics in Delta state and they have become rich and prominent. I know many politicians in Delta who never worked any where in their lives, who never executed any business in their lives but they become rich. How did it happen? The answer is simple.

They build mansions and own choice cars from politics. Politicians are ready to do anything to get there no matter what. Politics is the best business in Nigeria and very lucrative.
