Uromi Junction, Agbor: Uzum Hinges Poor State To Leadership Failure

By Johnson Ebigide
Eugene Azuka Uzum has ascribed the continued neglect of Uromi Junction at Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State to unfortunate political leadership failure in Ika Nation.
Uzum, a lawyer, politician, social commentator and policy analyst, stated this while speaking to newsmen in Agbor.
He said that Uromi Junction in Agbor is a major connecting axis to all parts of the country in Ika Land, wondering why succeeding administrations in the state had neglected the development of the area to the detriment of the people, the state and national integration.

He said that several individuals have been politically positioned to shift the paradigm from frustration, but that it appeared that either the political actors were self-centered or lack the proficiency to actualise the dream of a better Uromi Junction in the state.
He maintained that the Okowa Administration might not have been able to effect the needed transformation at the Uromi Junction owing to the unfortunate financial misfortune that befell it at inception but carried out palliatives works that ought to have been a complete flyover.
He stated emphatically that with the present Administration of Oborevwori and its favourable earnings and key political actors from Ika as helmsmen in the administration, the junction deserves a major prioritising in the policy drive of the state government, decrying the roll out of 275 billion Naira state projects by Delta state Govt without the inclusion of Uromi Junction.
Uzum posited that the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) occupied by an Ika man and other strategic offices to mention a few are either ineffectual or intentionally compromising the development of Uromi Junction.
He added that the office of the SSG is the clearing house for all projects in the state and should input developmental considerations in the policy thrust of the state government, just as he berated other Ikas in the Oborevwori Administration who have failed to draw the needed attention to rejuvenation of Uromi Junction in Agbor.
