DELSU: Prof. Rosemary Okoh Offers Special Thanks To God For Successful Tenure As DVC

A crowd-puller feast of thanksgiving was hosted by DELSU Don and Dame, Professor (Mrs) Rosemary Ngozi Okoh Yesterday, being Friday, 16th May, 2025 at one of the University’s Chapel , Our Saviour’s Chapel, Site II, Delta State University, Abraka to mark her End of Tenure as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).

Prof. Rosemary Okoh, who is a multidisciplinary Scholar and Professor of Agricultural Economics has served DELSU meritoriously for over 30 years, as substantive Head of Department, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences and member of many Committees, since she was appointed as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) in 2021 during the tenure of Professor Andy Egwunyenga, became a member of the Governing Council, acted for as well representing the VC within the University and outside , both nationally and internationally with good reports.

She has also chaired many Committees. Notable among the Committees is the Convocation Committee having conducted the 30th Anniversary and the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th Convocation ceremonies, with many recorded successes .

Testifying at the event, was the husband of the celebrant, Professor Patrick N. Okoh, who was one time Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the Delta State University, Abraka corroborated that his heart swells with immense pride and admiration for all that his wife has accomplished as an academic in dedication, unwavering commitment and insightful leadership which as undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the university.

The immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andy Egwunyenga who was the Chairman of the occasion expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God for giving Prof. Rosemary Okoh the strength, wisdom and grace throughout her 4-year tenure.

He however praised the DVC (Administration) for her dedication, hardworking and unwavering passion for education and service.

He furthered nicknamed her as “Silent Workerholic “ with a gentle spirit and loyalty.

A special moment was given to people to present their gifts, goodwill messages and free speeches in honour of the celebrant.

The occasion was graced by the VC, Professor Samuel Asagba, duly represented by the incoming Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) , Professor Edmond Atakpo, the DVC (Academic), Prof. Hilary Owamah, the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andy Egwunyenga, other Principal officers, CEO Steve Nnams Motors, Chief Stephen Nnamdi Onwugbonu, distinguished
Professors of the university, Dunamis Church, Agbor branch, the University’s Chaplains, staff and other prominent individuals who came from various geographical locations.
