NPFL Orders Stadium Upgrades Ahead Of 2025/26 Season

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has directed all clubs to upgrade key infrastructure at their home stadiums ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 season.

This directive comes just weeks after the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign, which ended with Remo Stars securing their maiden league title.

With the new season scheduled to kick off in August, the NPFL has emphasized that clubs must meet minimum stadium standards or risk losing the right to host matches. The upgrades include the installation of standard LED floodlights and a backup power generator to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply.

In a circular signed by Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi, the league body stated:
“Clubs must install and maintain LED floodlights that meet the required illuminance levels to facilitate night matches.”

The NPFL’s move is part of broader efforts to improve matchday experiences and ensure compliance with modern broadcasting and competition standards.
