Senate Approves 1.48 Trillion Naira 2025 Rivers State Budget

The senate has passed the 1.48 trillion naira 2025 Rivers state budget as recommended by the senate adhoc committee oversighting emergency rule in the state.
Senate also approved presidential appointees into the Rivers state Independent Electoral Commission, Rivers state Civil Service Commission, Rivers state local government service commission and Rivers state primary Healthcare management board.

Though some lawmakers before the confirmation argued against the appointment of Micheal Odey, who is from Cross River state as Chairman of the Rivers State Electoral Commission, senate clarified that the appointment does not contravene any section of the Nigerian constitution.
