Alleged Gross Misconduct: Ughelli North Legislative Arm Suspends Three Councillors
The Ughelli North Local Government Legislative Arm, has suspended three councillors for six plenary sitting for alleged gross misconduct and abuse of office and breach of oath.
The suspended councilors, Hon. Festus Oke Inana Orogun Ward 9, Hon Oke Doris Isodje Agbarho Ward 20, and Hon Collins Oghenebrorhie Arhiakpore Agbarha Ward 1 are to appear before an adhoc disciplinary committee chaired by the Majority Leader, Hon Ese Agbobore.
In a letter of suspension obtained by this medium, “At the sitting of the Ughelli North Local Government Legstative House Held on Thursday 21 of July, 2025, the House suspended the unders listed councilors for (6) Legislative plenary sittings, for gross misconduct and abuse of office.
According to the letter signed by Clerk of the House, Tagbajumi Emmanuel, “The suspended councilors are refered to 4-man adhoc disciplinary committee of the House constituted and chaired by the Majority Leader of the House, Hon Ese Agbobore.

“Their suspension takes immediate effect, and the affected councilors have been directed to stay away from all legislative activities pending the outcome of the investigations by the adhoc disciplinary committee of set up by the House.
“The Committee is mandated to report back to the house within one month with he resolution that was made in 31 day July, 2025.
The Legislative Arm in a sitting presided by the Leader of the House, Rt Hon Prosper Okeoghene Ajero affirms its commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency and discipline in the discharge of its duties for the good governance and development of Ughelli North Local Government Area.
Their suspension was signed by ten councillors led by the Leader of the House
Members of the disciplinary committee chaired by Hon Ese Agbobore include, Hon Israel Palmar, Hon Eshanome while Hon Henry Omonigho is the secretary.
