Senate Passes Bill To Establish Bitumen Commission
The Senate has passed a bill seeking the establishment of the Bitumen Development Commission of Nigeria.
Nigeria’s Bitumen deposit is estimated to be around 42 billion barrels located in the Southern states of Ondo, Ogun Lagos and Edo.
The Senate believes that the reserves hold huge potential for Nigeria’s infrastructure and industrial development, particularly in road construction and other uses.

The Senate also passed the Raw Materials Research And Development Council act amendment bill, with provisions to enhance processing of raw materials, locally, before export.
