DELSU: SSANU, NASU Executive, Others Pay ‘Thank-You-Visit’ To VC

The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), DELSU chapter on Friday paid a thank-you visit to the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba.
During the visit, the Chairman of SSANU, Comrade Matthew Eyure thanked Professor Asagba and the members of management for the 100% promotion to all categories of staff of the University for the 2025 appraisal year and his commitment to staff welfare.
“Mr. Vice-Chancellor, sir, we will continue to work and cooperate with you and your management team. SSANU is not a union known for belligerence. We are not antagonistic. We believe in constructive engagement, dialogue and collective bargaining,” just as he expressed gratitude for his fatherly guidance and assured the union’s commitment to advancing the university.
Professor Asagba, in his response, assured the union of management’s continued cooperation, noting that the harmonious relationship between the administration and the campus unions translates to overall progress and stability for the institution.

The VC urged staff to remain focused on their primary responsibilities, while avoiding acts that could undermine the image of the university.
He assured them that the administration would continue to explore ways to ease staff welfare challenges and called for reciprocal commitment from the union in ensuring that the university continues to excel.
He advised staff to stay away from any form of sharp practices l, saying anyone caught will face the consequences of such actions.
The courtesy visit was led by Senior Deputy Registrars, DELSU Workers MPCS, alongside SSANU & NASU executives.
