Warri Ethnic Hostilities: The Great Daudu Parliament Appeals For Calm

The Great Daudu Parliament, Warri in Warri South Local Government Area has appealed for calm among the warring indigenous ethnic nationalities of Itsekiri, Ijaw and Urhobo.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by Mr. Omamuli Okoro and Chimson Edoja (Chairman and Secretary respectively) made available to newsmen in Warri on Monday, 29th September, 2025.
The statement stressed that no meaningful development can take place in the absence of peace.
The statement also stressed that the ongoing ethnic hostilities will worsen the present poor socio-economic state of Warri.
“No wise investor in his or right senses will invest in a crisis area,” the statement added.
Omamuli who gave kudos to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in his efforts in restoring peace to the Warri area, appealed to the three warring Warri indigenous ethnic groups to key into the MORE Agenda of Governor Oborevwori of the restoration peace in order to restore the lost glory of Warri.

The Daudu Parliament in the statement, also gave the Executive Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, Hon Isaac Weyinmi Agbateyiniro a pat on the back for his efforts in the restoration of peace to Warri.
