EDSG Reiterates Commitment To Supporting Faith-Based Initiatives

‎Edo State Government through the Office of the First Lady, has reiterated its commitment to upholding the values of the Christian Faith and support for initiatives that promote spiritual growth, unity and community development in the State.

‎The Coordinator, Office of the Edo State First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani who gave the assurance during an engagement with members of the Ministers Forum International at Government House in Benin City, asserted that faith and action were intertwined and that Christianity encompassed not only salvation, but also embodied love and compassion in the daily lives of people, adding that by serving others, the love of God is reflected and exemplified.

‎”Christianity is not about denomination, it is about Christ living in you and that is who we are. As the body of Christ, what we do for our community reflects our faith. Christianity isn’t just about salvation, if your Christianity is only about salvation and you don’t extend love and kindness to others, your salvation is questionable.

‎”The Bible says, Love your neighbor as you love yourself, and Jesus also said, When I was in prison, you never visited me, when someone was in need, you never attended to them. The essence of Christianity is to give, as the scripture says, Give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shall men give unto your bosom. To be an ambassador of Christ on earth, I’ve asked God to help me represent Him not just in words but in works, actions, and speech, being a vessel of honour and not dishonour. That’s what we represent in Christ,” she said.

‎Mrs. Anani called on the Christian body to fulfill its sacred duty of exemplifying Christ’s teachings and values in all aspects of life, as His ambassadors.

‎According to her, “Our lives preach louder than words, and our actions reveal our faith. In the kingdom of God, we must preach the word and act it as well. Honestly, the Lord has given you a lot of people to shepherd, you must be able to carry the flock in righteousness and holiness”.
‎
‎Mrs. Anani further urged Ministers of God to pray for the Governor and Government, citing biblical scriptures which encourage support for leaders, especially during challenging times. She assured that the Governor Monday Okpebholo administration would do all it takes to support the body of Christ, as it values maintaining a good relationship with the Church.

‎The Founder and President of Ministers Forum International, Dr. Steve Leon, commended Mrs. Anani for her dedication to Public Service and commitment to supporting faith-based initiatives, highlighting the Organization’s commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism and accountability in pastoral work, serving with humility and compassion.
‎
‎Dr. Leon explained that Ministers Forum International was a global organization of pastors and bishops from diverse denominations with the mandate to unite and empower spiritual leaders to preach the truth, correct errors and promote integrity in the Ministry.
