Commuters Express Concern Over Gridlock At 3rd Marine Gate Road Junction
By Ambrose Ologide
A major route to Enerhen Junction, 3rd Marine Gate by Ajuyah Road Junction recently experienced a gridlock.
The cause of the gridlock was said to be the blockage of the Igbudu Primary School end for the ongoing multi billion naira flyover bridge project in Enerhen Junction.
Some concerned commuters who spoke to our correspondent in a media chat appealed for a solution to the gridlock pending when the construction of the flyover bridge project is completed.
One of them, Jacob Onovughe, a private car owner stated that one of the best solutions to the problem is the lack of presence of officials of Delta State Traffic Management Authority (DESTMA) at the said junction.
“Though, it is a temporary problem. After the completion of the flyover bridge project, the problem will be over. But there is the need for government traffic control officials to control traffic here,” he added.
Another private car owner, Harold Abayomi spoke in the same vein.
He however accused commercial tricycle (keke) riders as major causes of the constant holdups at the said junction. Abayomi accused keke riders of being impatient and display of unruly behavior when passing through the junction.

However a keke rider, James Afoke, identified the cause of the constant gricdlock at the Adjuya Road by 3rd Marine Gate to the narrowness of the deplorable state and narrowness of the junction.
He also admitted that there was need for traffic controlling officials at the said junction mostly during rush hours.
However all the respondents lauded and appreciated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the construction of the Enerhen Junction Flyover Bridge and rehabilitation of Ajuyah Road projects.
