SWEF Condemns Alleged Sexual Molestation In Ozoro

By Daniel Dafe

The Southern Women Empowerment Forum (SWEF), Delta State Chapter, has strongly condemned the alleged sexual molestation in Ozoro carried out under the guise of cultural practice.

A statement on Saturday signed by DCNs Dr. (Mrs) Rose Obi, described the act as “barbaric, inhumane, and unacceptable.”

Adding: “No tradition or custom should ever violate the dignity, rights, and safety of women and girls.”

The group called on the Delta State Government and security agencies to urgently investigate, arrest, and prosecute all those involved without delay, just as SWEF urged traditional leaders and the public to reject harmful practices, support victims, and stand firmly against gender-based violence.

“SWEF remains committed to protecting and empowering women and will continue to speak out against all forms of abuse,” the statement concluded.
