The Bayelsa State chapter of the City Boy Movement has been officially inaugurated alongside its new executive committee and secretariat in Yenagoa, as the group intensifies mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The youth-focused political organisation, which promotes the Renewed Hope Agenda and canvasses support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, witnessed a large turnout of supporters from across different walks of life, particularly young people advocating for greater political inclusion.

The inauguration ceremony was led by the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, represented by his Special Adviser on Political Affairs, while the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, formally inaugurated the movement’s secretariat.

Speaking at the event, the leadership of the movement, led by Chief Osomkime Blankson, described the inauguration as a major milestone in strengthening youth participation in politics and consolidating support for President Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

The Director-General of the movement and state coordinator also noted that the event reflects a renewed commitment to youth empowerment, political engagement, and grassroots mobilisation across Bayelsa State.

According to the organisers, the inauguration builds on earlier engagements with the state government, including a courtesy visit to the governor, where commitments to collaboration and political inclusiveness were expressed.

The City Boy Movement reaffirmed its readiness to expand its outreach, strengthen its structures, and drive support for the continued implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of 2027.
