JAMB UTME: Delta Police Deploy Operatives To Secure 31 CBT Centres

The Delta State Police Command has announced the deployment of police operatives to all accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the State ahead of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scheduled to hold from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 25, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, ANIPR, FCIA, FIPMD, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, the Command has activated a comprehensive intelligence-led security framework to ensure a safe and hitch-free examination exercise.

The deployment covers all thirty-one (31) accredited CBT centres across Delta State, with Area Commanders directed to assume full responsibility for security in their respective jurisdictions. They are to ensure strict supervision of personnel, effective visibility policing, rapid response capability, and close coordination with Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders, and examination officials. The Command also emphasized intelligence gathering and the protection of  ICT infrastructure to safeguard the integrity of the examination process.

The Police Command warned that examination malpractice, impersonation, and any form of disorderly conduct will not be tolerated. It added that offenders will be promptly arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law. Candidates are therefore advised to comply strictly with examination guidelines, maintain proper conduct, and arrive early at their centres.

SP Bright Edafe further reiterated the Command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property, while urging members of the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies with timely and credible information.
