DELSU Assures Students Academic Activities Will Continue Despite SSANU, NASU Strike
By Daniel Dafe
Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has assured students that academic activities will continue despite the ongoing industrial action embarked upon by members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU).
In an official bulletin released on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the university management disclosed that the strike commenced on May 1, 2026, affecting some services provided by the affected categories of staff within the institution.
The university, however, noted that the Federal Government is currently engaging with the unions in a bid to resolve the issues in dispute as quickly as possible.
The institution appealed to students for understanding and cooperation while efforts are being made to bring the industrial action to an end.
Despite the strike action, DELSU emphasized that the academic calendar remains unchanged, directing all students to continue attending lectures and other academic activities as scheduled.
